US Census Bureau - Temporary Employment Opportunity

Celebrate Recovery at Grace Pl started this conversation

The U.S. Census is hiring for Temporary Positions to conduct the 2010 Census. There may be positions in your area. I was just notified that I will be hired for a 40 hr. per week, in-office temporary position! You must call to find a Test Site in your area, pass the test & submit the Employment Application. Call for details:

U.S. Census Bureau / 1-866-861-2010

Go to: www.census.gov/2010census/

             (Click on the "Jobs" link)

**Hint: Download a copy of the "Practice Test" and Application from the website before going to take the test. Take the practice test & fill out the application before you go to the test site.

Note: This is just for information, not a post from the US Government!

The 2010 Census has finished all it's operations, all Local Offices are being shut down. Very limited Census employment is at or with the main office in Washington,DC and the regional offices in:

I am a retired federal employee but would love to work as a field interviewer for the US Census - I have done many similar jobs since my retirement. I speak Spanish. However, I understand that retirees only earn the difference between the Census pay and their annuity. My annuity would be larger so I'd be working for free. I am not concerned with the pay but do not want to be a volunteer!  I'd like to be paid SOMETHING! Does anyone know of any portions of the Census that may be contracted to agencies in the community?  Many thanks!

Economic recession resulted to thousand of job losses not only in the US but worldwide. Many people may think unemployment is not pleasant to think about, and is very unpleasant to endure. Some people wonder just where unemployment is the worst. Well, I can tell you which cities that unemployment is the highest in the U.S. El Centro, in southern California, has 25.1% unemployment. (To be fair, most work there is seasonal agriculture.) Merced, California, is just over 20%. Yuba City, also California, sits at 19.5%. The only non California city hit with high joblessness is Elkhart-Goshen, Indiana, with 18.8%of people living off credit cards during this recession. California's stats are inflated due to seasonal unemployment, as it revolves around farming. Still, that's a lot of people that can't get payday loans due to unemployment.

Be advised that some areas of the U.S. are not taking applications or testing at present for US Census Bureau jobs.
